The primary responsibility of this positio is to be responsible for troubleshooting support of plant problems, project management: budgeting, scheduling, contractors, bids, purchasing, and programming/automation topics at HPM Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Controls

• Design, program, and maintain PLC and HMI systems, primarily using Allen-Bradley and Wonderware platforms.
• Troubleshoot and optimize process control systems, including PID loop tuning for flow, temperature, pressure, and pH.
• Integrate and support field instrumentation such as sensors, transmitters, and motor control centers (MCCs).
• Develop and maintain operator interfaces and alarm systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide timely technical support for production issues related to automation and controls.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to identify and resolve process inefficiencies.

Project Execution

• Lead and execute automation-related projects, including upgrades, new installations, and process improvements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
• Maintain documentation and procedures in compliance with ISO standards and internal policies.
• Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and IT teams to ensure system reliability and data accessibility.
• Train operators and supervisors on new or updated systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within a process manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and HMI systems (PanelView, Wonderware).
• Strong understanding of industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet).
• Solid knowledge of process instrumentation and control strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and working within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL-based historian systems and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Honeywell controllers, Wago systems, or Red Lion interfaces.
• Basic scripting skills (VB, VBA) or experience with SCADA platforms.
