The following challenges await you:
- Managing a Global Team: You lead, coach, and develop supplier quality and supplier development engineers. You foster a collaborative, data-driven, and results-focused culture.
- Driving Supplier Performance: You establish, monitor, and improve supplier KPIs such as PPM, audit scores, and delivery quality.
- Leading Supplier Development Initiatives: You conduct proactive supplier capability assessments, identify gaps, and implement improvement roadmaps.
- Overseeing Audits & Assessments: You manage the global supplier audit program, including initial qualifications, periodic audits, and escalations for critical suppliers.
- Ensuring APQP Excellence: You ensure effective supplier participation in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and flawless PPAP submissions during product launches, engineering changes, and transfers.
- Resolving Problems & Managing Escalations: You lead critical issue resolution, perform robust root cause analyses, and implement sustainable corrective actions. You ensure global deployment of lessons learned.
- Collaborating Cross-Functionally: You work closely with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and customer quality teams to align supplier strategies and solve issues collaboratively.
- Building Strategic Supplier Partnerships: You partner with procurement to develop long-term supplier relationships focused on capability growth, innovation, and shared goals.
- Leading with Digital & Data-Driven Tools: You utilize digital tools and analytics to monitor trends, predict risks, and prioritize supplier development activities.
What you bring with you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in supplier quality and development leadership roles within the ideally in the automotive manufacturing sector.
- Sound knowledge of quality management systems and methods such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 as well as knowledge of core tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPF, PPAP)
- Experience leading structured supplier development programs and capability improvement initiatives.
- Proven success in leading and developing global teams across regions and cultures.
- Certified quality professional (e.g., CQE, CQA) or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel globally (~30–50%).
